Islamic Relief UK is an international non-governmental organization founded in the United Kingdom in 1984 by medical doctors and activists. Based in London, it operates as a mid-sized humanitarian and development nonprofit that combines disaster response with long-term community support. The organization works beyond its borders, engaging with local communities regardless of race, religion, or gender to address urgent needs and build resilience. Its work is guided by values drawn from Qur'anic teachings, including sincerity, excellence, compassion, social justice, and custodianship, with an emphasis on accountable, transparent operations. It targets vulnerable populations and disaster-affected communities, collaborating with other humanitarian actors and local partners to deliver aid and foster development. A recent development includes a partnership to provide lifesaving defibrillators in mosques across the UK.
