ISLP is a New York City–based organization in the international trade and development field that mobilizes a network of experienced pro bono lawyers to advise civil society groups and government bodies. Its aim is to foster development that is just, sustainable, and supportive of human rights while strengthening the rule of law. The organization operates by connecting legal professionals with civil society and government partners to address development‑related legal needs. ISLP's work centers on civil society organizations and governmental bodies seeking legal guidance and capacity-building for development initiatives. In 2020, ISLP launched a capacity-building webinar program for civil society and NGO partners in Colombia, Peru and Brazil focusing on transactional risk allocation and legal issues in large-scale infrastructure projects. In August 2024, ISLP helped organize an International Arbitration in Practice workshop in Georgetown in collaboration with the Government of Guyana and UK-supported partners.
