Incorporating JAG in 1994, the two managing principals, Cy and Virgil, have constantly explored the relationship of art and science in every project at hand. The utility of architecture sets specific constraints on design. From the humblest shack to the tallest skyscraper, architecture has to have the innovation and appeal of a sculpture, a painting, a music, and a poem. But it also has to hold up roofs, barrier the weather, ventilate the air, create spaces to live and work in, and after all meet the budget.
