Jazan University is a higher education institution based in the Jazan region of Saudi Arabia, along the Red Sea coast north of Jizan. Its early structure centered on the faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science and Information Systems, and Community, and it subsequently broadened to include teachers colleges and colleges for girls' education. A substantial campus project called the University City spans about 9,000,000 square meters, and its foundation stone was laid in 2006 after the royal decree establishing the university in 2005. By 2014, the university reported a student body of more than 56,000 and a sizable faculty and support staff. In December 2020, Manal Al-Malki was appointed dean of the Faculty of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, marking a notable leadership development at Jazan University.
