JINSA is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit in international affairs that works to advance U.S. national security interests in the Middle East, with a central emphasis on a robust U.S.–Israel security relationship. It views Israel as a critical security partner in the 21st century and frames a strong United States as essential to Western civilization. The organization pursues its mission through educational programs that connect American, Israeli, and other Middle Eastern military leaders, along with in-depth research and policy recommendations to shape U.S. policy. It operates as a non-partisan 501(c)(3) entity. JINSA has operated programs such as the Military Leadership Education Institute, launched in 2016 to educate elite active-duty officers from America's Middle Eastern allies about factors shaping U.S. foreign policy, and more recently launched a National Security Fellowship in 2026 for mid-career professionals to deepen expertise on the U.S.-Israel partnership and regional challenges.
