The Johnston Community School District is a public education system serving PreK–12 students in Johnston, Iowa, a suburb of Des Moines. The district serves about 7,000 students and operates an early childhood center, five elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school, an alternative high school, and specialized programs including a Therapeutic Program and a transitional special education program, along with district offices and support facilities. It covers roughly 40 square miles and is the 14th largest district in Iowa.
