Joker is a Turkish retailer based in Istanbul's Şişli district that originated in 1990 as ATM Dış Ticaret Pazarlama A.Ş., initially serving wholesale channels before branching into retail stores under the Joker brand. The first Joker store opened in 1994 in Istanbul's Kızıltoprak, and the company's first mall location followed at Akmerkez in 1995, which also marked the launch of Jokerland, its early entertainment offering. The concept grew rapidly, with Jokerland expanding beyond Istanbul starting in 1999.

In 2012 the company was acquired by Actera Group, and in 2013 it adopted a refreshed logo, vision, and values. The firm's stated purpose centers on understanding and addressing mothers' needs to create a pleasant shopping environment. By 2021 Joker operated stores in nine cities and maintains a people-focused approach to work, including a competency-based recruitment process, in-store orientation for central-office staff during their first week, and a range of training programs to support employee development.
