Joyful Heart Foundation is a New York-based nonprofit operating in the Individual and Family Services sector. Since its founding in 2004, it has operated as a national organization with a mission to transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, and to support survivors’ healing. The organization employs 11 to 50 people and reports revenue in the range of $50 million to $100 million. It has led and participated in campaigns and collaborations addressing untested rape kit backlogs and image-based abuse, including the End the Backlog initiative (launched in 2010) and the Shelved PSA campaign (launched in 2017), and it engages in partnerships with other organizations such as prosecutors’ groups. The organization maintains a website at https://joyfulheartfoundation.org and, in January 2026, partnered with the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys to convene a roundtable on image-based abuse in Decatur, Georgia.
