O nome Kalunga foi lido pela primeira vez no Brasil em 1972, na fachada de uma pequena papelaria no bairro da Vila Mariana, zona sul de São Paulo. Era uma iniciativa do ex-caixeiro-viajante Damião Garcia e empresário do ramo gráfico, recém-chegado de Bauru com a família, que buscava uma atividade para os filhos pequenos, anos depois a Kalunga (“tudo de bom” ) em dialeto banto africano transformou-se na maior distribuidora brasileira de materiais escolares e produtos para escritório e informática. 

Desde 1972 a Kalunga tem buscado satisfazer seus clientes com qualidade, profissionalismo e agilidade.
