The Kansas City Wizards are a mid-sized professional soccer club based in Leawood, Kansas, competing in Major League Soccer. They have played at CommunityAmerica Ballpark as a temporary home while ownership group OnGoal, LLC advances plans for a permanent stadium, with demolition underway at the future site. The club originated in 1995 as one of MLS's charter members and briefly used the Wiz nickname before adopting Wizards after the 1996 season.

In 2006, OnGoal LLC purchased the club from Hunt Sports Group, leading to leadership changes, including Peter Vermes becoming Technical Director and Curt Onalfo as Head Coach, and the opening of a new training center in Swope Park in 2007. The Wizards have captured major honors: MLS Cup in 2000, the U.S. Open Cup in 2004, and the MLS Supporters Shield in 2000. The organization is part of the spectator sports industry and serves soccer fans in the Kansas City region as it develops a long-term venue and identity.
