Kazatomprom is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the import and export of uranium, rare metals, and nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants. Since 2009, Kazakhstan has been the world leader in natural uranium mining, and Kazatomprom holds priority rights to the country's substantial reserves. The company spans the front end of the nuclear fuel cycle, including geological exploration, uranium mining, production of nuclear fuel, and research and development of patented technologies.
