The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre was created in 2009 to help UK companies win work in nuclear.

We operate across nuclear new build, operations, decommissioning and technology development, and in other high-value low-carbon manufacturing industries. Our manufacturing innovation capabilities are open to all UK manufacturers, from specialist SMEs to top-tier OEMs.

Our engineers and sector specialists work with companies to develop innovative techniques and optimised processes for large-scale high-precision manufacturing.

We have also developed a range of supply chain development support to help manufacturers enter the nuclear market and compete worldwide. Our flagship Fit For Nuclear programme, launched in 2011, is a unique diagnostic tool which lets you measure your operations against industry requirements, drive improvements and close any gaps.

The Nuclear AMRC is owned by the University of Sheffield. We are part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, a national network of seven specialist industry-focused research centres.
