Just as it was formed to do in 1971, KC CARE Health Center offers unconditional whole-person care to everyone with the promise of a personalized and affirming experience. Today KC CARE provides health care services in general medicine, behavioral health, dentistry and nationally acclaimed HIV services. One of the largest charitable community health clinics in the country, KC CARE became a Federally Qualified Health Center in 2015. Funding is received through insurance reimbursement, donations, grants, special events, United Way, patient payments, and contributed goods and services. Located in three urban locations along major bus routes in Kansas City, Missouri, the health center is energized by a full-time staff of nearly 200 and over 500 volunteers. With its current funding, staff and volunteers, KC CARE cares for more than 10,000 clinical patients and touches more than 20,000 through community services.
