As an agency of the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, the Kentucky Heritage Council serves as the State Historic Preservation Office, dedicated to the identification, protection, and preservation of Kentucky's rich heritage. 🏛️ Preservation Education and Planning: We work closely with local governments and preservation commissions, providing education and planning assistance to promote sustainable heritage preservation.

🌳 Certified Local Government Program: In collaboration with the National Park Service, we administer the CLG Program, empowering local communities to protect & celebrate their historic resources.

🏪 Kentucky Main Street Program: We manage the Kentucky Main Street Program, supporting downtown revitalization efforts and fostering economic development.

🌟 Supporting Commissions: We provide administrative support to the Kentucky African American Heritage Commission, Martin Luther King JR. Commission, Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission and Kentucky Military Heritage Commission.
