KickStart International is a nonprofit social enterprise advancing affordable irrigation in Africa. We design and distribute our flagship MoneyMaker irrigation pumps, practical tools that enable smallholder farmers to grow crops year-round, increase incomes, and strengthen food security. To date, more than 400,000 pumps have been sold across 17 countries, helping over 1.5 million people out of poverty, creating 300,000+ farm enterprises, and generating $210M in new profits and wages. Farmers use our pumps to move from rain-fed subsistence to profitable irrigated farming, producing high-value crops even in dry seasons when demand and prices peak. Through 250+ local distributors and partnerships with governments, NGOs, and agribusinesses, KickStart ensures irrigation technology is accessible, sustainable, and scalable.
