Kids In The Middle (KITM) is a nonprofit organization that provides counseling, education, and support to children, parents, and families navigating divorce. Based in the Greater St. Louis area, the agency has operated since 1977 with a focus on the needs of children and families affected by divorce. Its services are centered on counseling for children of divorce and involve the whole family through a range of programs. The organization uses a sliding-scale fee structure to ensure access regardless of a family's ability to pay, and it is described as the region's only nonprofit with this specialized mandate.
As a mental health care provider, KITM focuses on reducing the emotional and practical strain of divorce through counseling and educational resources for families. Leadership changes in 2023 saw KITM appoint a new chief executive officer and a chief development officer to guide its next phase in the St. Louis area.
