KindredSun and Foundation is a Lake Oswego, Oregon-based organization in the fundraising sector that proposes a program using solar energy yields from participating homes and businesses in the community to support afterschool programs and other social-benefit initiatives. The program is described as patent-pending and is presented as capable of providing ongoing support for these programs over an extended period, potentially reducing the need for traditional fundraising and involving a wide range of participants such as parents, schools, governments, nonprofits, community programs, and businesses.

By reallocating a substantial portion of the observed solar energy and its associated value, the model aims to establish a renewable energy–based mechanism to sustain operations for classrooms, afterschool and youth programs, veterans and elderly care, and animal welfare. The organization is based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and appears to operate with a very small team. The description places KindredSun within the fundraising field by emphasizing a long-term, community-driven energy-based approach.
