Kings County Distillery, founded in 2010, operates in Brooklyn as New York City's oldest whiskey distillery since Prohibition, producing handmade moonshine and bourbon. The production takes place in the 115-year-old Paymaster Building within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, using New York grains and traditional copper stills to craft its whiskeys. In 2023, the distillery expanded its distribution footprint to Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. through a partnership with Lanterna Distributors. The company distills whiskey exclusively for its own label and does not source bulk whiskey. It offers tours and tastings on Saturdays and has earned recognition from the American Distilling Institute and the American Craft Spirits Association, along with a New York Times ranking highlighting its bourbon.
