The Klamath Irrigation District is a special government district based in Klamath Falls, Oregon, established to manage and deliver an adequate water supply for the Klamath Project under Oregon Revised Statute Chapter 545. Its origins trace to the 1905 bylaws of the Klamath Water Users Association, which described authority for landowners to contract with the federal government; the district was officially established by a 1917 court order to assume those contracts. Based in Klamath Falls, it operates as a small government organization, and in March 2026 announced plans to modernize its irrigation infrastructure to improve system efficiency, with a public input meeting planned in Merrill, Wisconsin in April 2026.
