KNDS UK is a defense and space manufacturing company based in Manchester, North West England, employing hundreds of people. It designs and manufactures tactical bridging systems, including the DSB Dry Support Bridge and the MGB Medium Girder Bridge, for military and disaster-relief operations. For more than four decades, it has supplied these capabilities to customers across the world, serving more than 40 armed forces. The firm participates in the production of Boxer Mechanised Infantry Vehicles for the British Army, as part of an ARTEC contract signed in 2019. It provides value-added support such as inspection, repairs, maintenance, spares, and training for its bridges, delivered in the field and at its UK engineering site by skilled engineers. Through in-house research and development, KNDS UK pursues additional military-grade engineering solutions within the defence sector, including aeronautical and vehicular equipment, and it operates as a prime contractor to the US Department of Defense and the UK Ministry of Defence with a global sales network engaging international governments and NGOs.
