Kurbo, established in 2013 and acquired by Weight Watchers in 2018, was a pioneering digital health company dedicated to providing an evidence-based intervention for child overweight and obesity. Aiming to tackle a major public health challenge on a large scale, Kurbo's family-oriented Intensive Health Behavior and Lifestyle Treatment (IHBLT) program assisted tens of thousands of children, teens, and families worldwide in achieving their health and wellness objectives. Additionally, Kurbo featured a mobile app designed using design thinking principles, specifically tailored to children and teens. The app served as a supplementary tool grounded in science-based behavior change techniques to enhance the coaching experience and support users in achieving their health and wellness goals.
