Innovated by Lacks own research and development group, Chromtec® is the original composite wheel combining an aluminum backbone and a highly designable surface—a cost-effective alternative to direct-plated aluminum wheels. 

Because we optimize the backbone for strength, stiffness and weight, wheel function is uncompromised by aesthetic design. The highly configurable design surface accepts sharp radii—a mirror perfect surface even in the turbine openings. This gives designers more options for creating stunning, premium wheel designs.

Lacks’ finish options and combinations further expand design parameters so you can create multiple trim levels, target niche markets and reduce lifecycle management investment. Our highly durable finishes offer proven, unparalleled corrosion resistance resulting in lower warranty.

To align with OEMs’ focus on fuel economy, Lacks developed the  eVOLVE™ Hybrid Wheel. Its weight-optimized, lower-cost aluminum backbone reduces un-sprung vehicle mass and supports aerodynamic designs.

Another innovation, Lacks’ xPOSE™ wheel further increases design parameters by revealing more of the finished backbone wheel.All wheels are available in Lacks’ wide range of finishes: Spinelle™, SELECTIVE Spinelle™, paint and electroplate chrome in all colors and hues: bright chrome, Iridium, Technium, Platinum and satin.
