Lawyers Alliance for New York is the leading provider of business and transactional legal services for nonprofit organizations and social enterprises that are improving the quality of life in New York City neighborhoods. Our network of pro bono lawyers from law firms and corporations and staff of experienced attorneys collaborate to deliver expert corporate, tax, real estate, employment, intellectual property, and other legal services to community organizations. By connecting lawyers, nonprofits, and communities, we help nonprofits to provide housing, stimulate economic opportunity, improve urban health and education, promote community arts, and operate and advocate for vital programs that benefit low-income New Yorkers of all ages. Our three constituencies: 1) Lawyers: our volunteers provide invaluable legal services to nonprofits that are serving low-income communities and creating a better New York, while they develop professional skills and practical experience. Our staff attorneys support volunteers throughout the process; 2) Nonprofits: our legal assistance enables nonprofits to improve programs, address community needs, overcome organizational challenges, and achieve their missions; and 3) Communities: we help nonprofits serving all five boroughs of New York City and we serve as a role model for business law pro bono programs around the country.
