LEAP (Cleveland) is a small to mid-sized nonprofit in Northeast Ohio focused on advancing participation and equality for people with disabilities. Founded in 1981 by individuals with disabilities, it serves more than 1,500 people annually, offering information, education, training, employment support, and independent living services to help them live at home, participate in community life, and find stable employment. The organization emphasizes lived experience in its governance, with the majority of staff and board members being people with disabilities, and is based in Cleveland, Ohio. In October 2023, Beth Glas became executive director, the third person to hold the role in LEAP’s history, following the retirement of the previous director earlier that year. LEAP remains a nonprofit focused on social change to improve quality of life for people with disabilities in Northeast Ohio.
