The Lebanese American University is a private, nonsectarian higher education institution based in Beirut, in the Beirut region. It operates under a charter from the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, reflecting its international recognition. The university serves undergraduate and graduate students across its campuses, including the Byblos campus where degrees are conferred. During 2025, LAU expanded its external partnerships, signing a landmark agreement with Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut to strengthen their collaboration. The year also saw LAU celebrate its 100th commencement exercises at the Byblos campus, with 903 graduates honored.
