LifePoint Church started meeting at Mechanicsville Elementary School in 1987. There were about 25 people in attendance with a clear vision to grow. Under the leadership of a faithful group of elders and the senior pastor, Joe Duke, the church did just that, it grew. From Mechanicsville the church moved to Liberty High School, Westminster High School and Century High School, over a span of 20 years. In 1999, the leadership of then Carroll Community Church decided to purchase land and make plans to build a permanent building. By September of 2004, phase one of the site was complete and the youth, offices and administration building, called the Ministry Center, was opened. Phase 2, construction of a worship center, began right after phase one, and was finished in the fall of 2006. The campus now includes the Ministry Center, Worship Center, and a hiking trail, all located on a 70 acre tract. Before leaving Century High School, the leadership decided to lead the church in a name change to LifePoint Church, to facilitate new opportunities for growth, and make others aware of our new location in Baltimore County. On November 12, 2006, we held our first service in our present worship center. Since then we have added Saturday evening services and watched our average weekend attendance grow to over 2000.
