History: Founded in 1977, Lifewater International is a Christian non-profit with a focus on safe water and community health, committed to helping families in extreme poverty thrive. Recently, Lifewater joined Water for Good, sharing the mission of transforming lives in places that need it most. Focusing on safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene training (WASH), Lifewater operates in Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Cambodia, and the Central African Republic. Lifewater’s proven approach to solving the WASH crisis is called the “Vision of a Healthy Village.” It is the culmination of 40 years of WASH experience and exhaustive research. This model uses the contributions of local churches, governments, leaders, and families to build a healthier and more productive future for remote communities. Over 150,000 people are currently participating in the Vision of a Healthy Village. The organization has received the highest possible rating from independent charity evaluators, including four stars from Charity Navigator. Our Mission: Transforming lives through sustainable access to safe water, as well as improved sanitation and hygiene, in places that need it most.
