We are specialty marine insurance brokers serving the United States, with an emphasis on the Southeastern U.S., Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Our goal is to simply build long lasting client relationships by listening to our clients needs, providing expert risk assessment and finding the best insurance product that has a combination of competitive pricing, broad coverages and solid security.

Despite being a newer company, Lightship maintains over 50 years of combined marine insurance experience through it's staff. Marine Underwriters was acquired from Salvus Bain Managment (USA), LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunderland Marine Insurance Co., Ltd in 2016. Sunderland had initially acquired Marine Underwriters in 2009 from Ron Raby, Brian's father. With this recent acquisition, the agency has essentially been returned to the family that initially started it.
