The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA) functions as a cultural and civic anchor for New York City, serving as the umbrella advocate for the Lincoln Center campus. It pursues strategic priorities that foster collaboration among the center’s resident organizations, promote inclusion and accessibility, and support innovation on and off the stage to keep the arts at the center of civic life for all. Each year, LCPA presents hundreds of programs, many offered for free or on a pay-what-you-can basis, including initiatives designed for young audiences, families, and people with disabilities. Its activities are organized around a network of eleven resident organizations, including The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Juilliard School, Lincoln Center Theater, and the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Based in New York City within the United States, the organization operates in the performing arts sector and seeks to broaden its reach and accessibility across the community. A concrete development in 2026 involves plans to construct a new 2,000-seat theater that would anchor a garden space on the campus.
