The Lincoln Children's Zoo is a nonprofit organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska, focused on education, enrichment, and conservation of animals. Founded in 1965, it serves the local community by offering opportunities to learn about the natural world and to observe a variety of species. The facility cares for more than 400 animals across over 30 species, with care provided by a trained team of zoo professionals. The zoo has undertaken major expansions, including in 2019 adding 10 acres, a year-round giraffe-feeding area, a Sumatran tiger habitat, an indoor play space beside the spider monkeys, and a play stream, followed by a 2021 expansion introducing cheetahs and giant anteaters and featuring a 25-foot tall play structure and the Cheetah Chase Theater. In 2026, the zoo announced the naming of a Matschie\'s tree kangaroo, illustrating ongoing growth and diversification of its animal collection.
