Loja do Mecânico is a Brazilian retail company that sells tools and machinery to professionals and hobbyists. It began in 1993 as Gurgel Ferramentas, founded by Márcio Gurgel after recognizing the demand for specialized tools through door-to-door sales. The business expanded online in the late 1990s and early 2000s, becoming a pioneer in Brazil's tools market with an e-commerce platform launched in 2003 and adopting the Loja do Mecânico name in 2006 to reach a broader worker audience. It is based in Franca, SP, and has operated a physical store there since 2006, with distribution centers in Cajamar, SP, and Recife, PE. The company launched its own private-label FortG in 2013 and continues to expand its footprint with new distribution centers and stores in Betim, MG, and other cities across the country.
