Lombard Park District is a mid-sized public park system in Lombard, Illinois that manages a network of parks, facilities, and programs. Founded in 1927, it serves a community of more than 40,000 residents with the aim of providing quality recreation opportunities for people of all ages. The district administers more than 400 acres of land across seven facilities and 18 parks that include playgrounds, sport courts and fields, rental shelters, and miles of walking paths. It oversees notable amenities such as Paradise Bay Water Park and Western Acres Golf Course. The district has earned national recognition, including the 2009 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management, and in 2023 moved to approve the purchase of Helen Plum library land.
