The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports the Los Angeles Fire Department through private philanthropic giving, providing resources, equipment, technology, and training, and overseeing programs such as Adopt a Fire Station to improve station life. It functions as the department’s major source of private funding, addressing the gap created by a budget that prioritizes salaries and benefits and leaves little for capital needs. 

The foundation serves firefighters, paramedics, and the broader Los Angeles community by partnering with donors and organizations to enhance frontline capabilities and uphold high service standards to protect life, property, and the environment. It translates private contributions into tangible improvements in equipment, training, and youth programs, supporting both the department and residents. In 2025–2026, it and its partners were recognized with a Gold Halo Award for Best Emergency/Disaster Response Initiative for their emergency response efforts during the Los Angeles wildfires.
