About LSS of Northern California Incorporated in 1968, LSS is a private non-profit organization. LSS touches over 4,500 lives annually providing non-sectarian services to the homeless, the disabled, low-income families, people with HIV/AIDS, the elderly, former foster youth and other at-risk populations. LSS’s service area is Northern California and it maintains offices and programs in Sacramento, Stockton, San Francisco and Concord. The purpose of LSS's programs are to provide transitional and supportive housing, money management and other supportive services to help individuals and families stabilize their lives, acquire skills and reach self-sufficiency. Many are suffering from mental or physical disabilities, chronic illnesses and substance abuse issues. LSS Case Managers work with our clients to help them set achievable goals to maintain stable housing, healthy lifestyles, steady incomes and independence. Our Mission Lutheran Social Services of Northern California promotes stability and honors the dignity of those we serve by providing supportive housing services that lead to self-sufficiency.
