Lumos Labs runs Lumosity, a program available on web and mobile that aims to exercise fundamental cognitive skills through more than 50 games created from neuropsychological and cognitive research tasks. Researchers and game designers collaborate to translate these tasks into entertaining, progressively challenging activities accessible to users of various ages. The company leads the Human Cognition Project, which partners with more than 90 university collaborators to provide researchers with free access to cognitive training tasks, assessments, tools, and, in some cases, limited performance data to support larger studies. Based in San Francisco, California, Lumosity operates as a mid-sized software development firm focused on cognitive training.

Its core audience includes individual consumers seeking cognitive training and researchers who use Lumosity’s resources for study purposes. In 2023, Lumosity announced partnerships with Glitch and with Ogilvy New Zealand, illustrating collaborations beyond its consumer program.
