The Lung Institute in Tampa was founded to improve the quality of life for those suffering from chronic lung disease. For patients who have been diagnosed with a respiratory illness such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, or interstitial lung disease, quality of life can be dramatically impaired, both physically and mentally. When suffering from a chronic lung disease, tasks as simple as walking to the mailbox, taking a shower or cooking dinner can become extremely difficult, challenging the idea of a normal life.
