Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is one of the largest statewide nonprofit social service organizations in Minnesota with more than 2,500 team members serving in all 87 counties and beyond. Our services support children, youth and families, people with identified needs, older adults, and veterans. LSS of MN is committed to the vision that all people have the opportunity to live and work in community with full and abundant lives. Our mission is to express the love of Christ for all people through service that inspires hope, changes lives and builds communities. Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota traces its history to 1865 when a Lutheran congregation near Red Wing opened its doors to care for four orphaned children. Today, the organization serves one in 63 Minnesotans annually through a wide variety of services. These include adoption and foster care, financial counseling, behavioral health services, support for veterans, services for youth experiencing homelessness, guardianship options, caregiver support, community residential services for individuals with identified needs and more. LSS of MN’s overarching goal is to meet our neighbors where they are and help them remove barriers so that they can live lives of dignity and self-reliance. We are also proud to have a mission for our team members: to provide deeply meaningful work, an opportunity for each person’s gifts to shine and grow, and support for abundant and balanced lives.
