Maccio Physical Therapy has been providing high quality, cost effective care to patients since 1986. Our treatment approach to musculo-skeletal injuries is based on the McKenzie Method and Ergonomic Principles.

We are the only Certified McKenzie Clinic in the Capital District and Joseph G. Maccio, MA, PT, DipMDT, is the area's only Diplomat in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT). There are currently only 33 certified clinics in the United States and 78 worldwide. Evaluation and treatment is based on mechanical diagnosis and therapy intervention with emphasis on prevention and self-management. Individualized treatment is rendered and you are consistently evaluated by the same physical therapist in order to attain superior results and ensure continuity in patient care. The McKenzie Method requires fewer treatment visits than traditional physical therapy and results in lower recurrence. MDT is now being used as a prescreening tool before MRIs or surgery is considered, significantly reducing the imaging and surgical rates throughout the country.
