In 1985, James M. Maddox formed Maddox Industrial Contractors. Sensing a need for a contractor that could respond to both the public utility and private industrial markets, he set out to offer value in a highly competitive market. As utility infrastructure aged and new technologies entered the market, Maddox grew.
