Our mission as the Madison County Medical Society has been organized to serve its members as an advocate for the physician/patient relationship, and to promote and preserve the highest standards of professional, educational and moral conduct. The Madison County Medical Society is a professional organization chartered in 1877. It is composed of Medical Doctors and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine in Madison County. The Society is the liaison between the medical community, the lay community, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA), and the American Medical Association (AMA). MASA bills and collects yearly dues for the Society. The Medical Society works on behalf of its members in the areas of managed care, legislative issues and employer interaction that affect physicians and their practices. Member services continue to grow as needs change and become more critical. Actions to promote and protect the sacred physician/patient relationship are uppermost. The Board of Trustees strives to provide physician members value for their membership dues dollars.
