Based in Madison, Wisconsin, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is an independent nonprofit that preserves, exhibits, and collects modern and contemporary art. Its work focuses on providing experiences that educate, reflect, and inspire both individuals and the wider community. The museum occupies a purpose-built facility in the Overture Center for the Arts, opened in 2006 and designed by Cesar Pelli, featuring about 51,500 square feet of gallery space and a rooftop sculpture garden, along with a 230-seat lecture hall, a children's classroom, a new-media gallery, and a study center for drawings, prints, and photographs.
