For over 30 years, Major Brands Oil Company has been providing exceptional service and the highest quality oil products to customers throughout the Great Lakes region.
 
Incorporated in 1981, Major Brands Oil Company was a family business from the start. It was at that time that Husband and wife team, Steve and Pat Klingenberg, started distributing Quaker State in Western Michigan. The business grew quickly, and over the following 10 years, MBOC acquired the rights to many motor oil and fluid lines including Citgo Valvoline, Castrol, Conoco, Peak, Empire and National. 

In 1990 MBOC purchased a Quaker State Distributorship from Weaver Oil in Grand Rapids. That purchase set the foundation for the Western Michigan area to become one of the strongest Quaker State markets in the country. Around that same time MBOC had also become one of Michigan’s largest antifreeze recyclers, selling engine coolants to garages, dealerships and oil changes all over the state.
 
In the early 2000's Steve and Pat's sons, Kyle and Justin Klingenberg, joined the family business, and over the following 10 years, Major Brands Oil grew its distribution and product lines with the addition of Pennzoil and Shell products.
 
On January 23rd 2009 Pat Klingenberg passed away at the age of 55 from a lengthy illness. Kyle and Justin continue to manage the business, and with the help of long-term and dedicated employees, they are growing the company that their parents started almost 30 years ago. At the heart of the business is MBOC’s commitment to providing its customers with first class service, and the personal touch that the company was built on, and that their customers have come to expect. 

Still today, Major Brands Oil Company is dedicated to the Quaker State, Shell and Pennzoil brands, and in addition, offers all of the major brands and products it once set out to offer.
