The company was founded in 1935 by Albert "Mike" Malley during the Great Depression, when he opened a chocolate-making enterprise in Lakewood, Ohio. Today it operates 18 retail stores across the region and runs a modern chocolate-making factory at a five-acre, 60,000-square-foot headquarters.
