Manufacturing Renaissance is a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, founded in 1982 by Dan Swinney. For decades it has focused on supporting the manufacturing sector as a strategy for reducing poverty and sustaining middle-class communities, with programs spanning career pathways, policy and advocacy, and economic development. Its work includes initiatives that connect youth and young adults to manufacturing careers, convene stakeholders to shape industrial policy, and provide technical assistance to small and mid-sized manufacturers, including ownership succession for diverse entrepreneurs. The organization collaborates with schools, workforce partners, and industry groups to expand access to manufacturing opportunities for BIPOC communities while advancing sustainable development.
