Mariners Inn provides shelter, residential services, and substance abuse treatment to adult men who are suffering from homelessness and addiction. Mariners Inn’s treatment program is certified by the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) at the most prestigious three-year level. Mariners Inn is licensed to provide residential, outpatient, and integrated treatment by the Michigan Department of Community Health. Mariners Inn has been providing substance abuse treatment to homeless men since 1955 and has been in existence since 1928, when the agency provided shelter to Great Lakes sailors and homeless men in the basement of Mariners Church on Jefferson. Mariners Inn provides substance abuse treatment within a continuum of services that help our consumers and their families achieve long-term recovery from the effects of addiction. Mariners Inn operates the following programs: • Residential Treatment Program • Housing Program (TH/MER) • Strengthening Families Program (SFP) • Residential Youth Prevention Program (RYPP) • Alumni and Outreach • Alcohol & Highway Safety (AHS) Our Mission The mission of Mariners Inn is to provide 24- hour, residential, substance abuse treatment for adult, homeless men of Southeastern Michigan, in a professional, compassionate, therapeutic environment conducive to reducing their problems of drug and alcohol addiction, thereby promoting their return to health, independence, and increased self-worth.
