Market Street Mission is an experienced organization with a proven method of helping to fight alcoholism, drug abuse, hunger and homelessness in Northern NJ. Since 1889 we have been meeting people’s immediate needs and offering hope for a better future. Our mission at Market Street is to surround our neighbors with God’s love and everything they need to get back on their feet – like food and shelter, counseling and job training, spiritual guidance and Bible study – to live stable, productive lives in our community.

We serve our community through two main programs: Emergency Services such as meals, overnight shelter for men, showers, and clothing; and a men’s addiction recovery Life Change Program to help those struggling with substance abuse to rebuild their lives. All our services are free to those in need. 

In addition to the Market Street Mission in Morristown, we also have our Jersey Shore Rescue Mission location in Asbury Park and our Market Street Mission – Sussex County location in Newton. Our Jersey Shore location offers meals to the community, overnight shelter for men, and a men’s addiction recovery program and relapse program. Our Sussex County location serves as a 14-bed hospitality room for men experiencing homelessness and refers guests in need to our addiction recovery program in Morristown.
