The MDC Studio is a MedTech Startup Studio that provides engineering, business development services, and funding to create and support companies commercializing medical devices, software, and related technologies. We work with inventors to develop their ideas into working prototypes and marketable products. We help them form companies that will grow and create value for society and their shareholders. 

Our companies include Next Step Robotics, developing the AmbleBot for treatment of footdrop in stroke, Modular Matter, developing a novel meta-materials prosthesis, Connected Care Systems, providing novel systems for monitoring physical therapy in the home, IMERSE Surgical Robotics, developing a autonomous surgical robot - mu-Star - for soft tissue suturing procedures, and Shuriken Medical Technologies, developing a novel feeding tube that can be replaced at the bedside, among others. 

MDC portfolio companies are based on technologies invented at the University of Maryland and JHU Schools of Medicine, the Cooper University Trauma Center, the Henry Jackson Foundation, and MDC's own inventors. 

MDC has offices in Baltimore, near the University of Maryland Medical Center, Camden New Jersey, at the Cooper University Trauma Center MILDAF facility, in Bethesda at the Henry Jackson Foundation for Military Medicine, and in Singapore and Hong Kong. 

MDC Studio was founded by surgeons, neurologists, and engineer-entrepreneurs.
