Maryland United FC is a nonprofit youth soccer organization based in Crofton, Maryland. The club has provided a competitive soccer environment since 1978, originally operating as Freestate Soccer Alliance and changing to Maryland United FC in 2013. Its teams serve players from U9 to U18 across both boys and girls, and compete in the Club Champions League for elite play in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.; the girls’ U14 to U18 squads participate in the Elite Clubs National League, a national league for female youth soccer. Beyond league play, Maryland United FC arranges tournaments and showcases to help players gain exposure to college coaches. The organization also emphasizes leadership and community service through initiatives such as a canned food drive and a Leadership Council for high school players. The club has approximately 500 active participants and maintains partnerships with D.C. United, Adidas, and Pivot Physical Therapy.
