The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals is a nonprofit organization based in New York, NY 10001, founded in 2003 to prevent the killing of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats simply because they lack homes. With early support from Maddie's Fund, the ASPCA, and other funders, the Alliance developed life-saving programs and partnered with more than 150 rescue groups and shelters as Alliance Participating Organizations. By 2019, the live release rate at NYC's municipal shelters reached over 90 percent for the third consecutive year, marking a significant advance toward no-kill outcomes. Following that milestone, the Alliance reevaluated its programming and began transferring its core services to partner nonprofits. Today, it functions as an information resource for pet owners and others seeking services, resources, and ways to support the welfare of NYC's animals. In 2023, NYC's Animals, Inc. was recognized by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.
