McClendon Center works to improve the health and well-being of men and women who are mentally ill, economically disadvantaged, and are often the most vulnerable in our Washington, DC community. 

Long before ‘integrated behavioral healthcare’ models, McClendon Center has been addressing our clients’ medical needs in addition to their mental health. 

Since receiving our initial Joint Commission* accreditation in 1999, we continue to be the only independent mental health provider in DC to be so accredited. By providing treatment for our clients’ mental illnesses, and addressing their other needs (such as primary care, housing, socialization), we can help them dramatically improve their quality of life.
